Columbus Discovers North Cove
Things reached a fevered pitch today when the "Nina" and "Pinta" both pulled in to Dennis Conner's North Cove.
You might remember these boats from Christopher Columbus' voyage of discover to the New World. Now we are all standing by waiting just in case the Santa Maria comes round the Battery, lands at North Cove and Columbus steps ashore.
Welcome to the most exciting year ever at North Cove in Battery Park City, Lower Manhattan.
The arrival of these historic replicas comes on the heels of our greatest July 4th gathering of yachts ever. And the mega yachts have continued coming so that North Cove has been full for over 3 weeks straight. The sailing school is in full swing, the junior sailing programs are running at capacity and the Corporate Sailing League is larger then ever.
It's a great time in NYC so please come visit. The Nina and Pinta will just be here until Wednesday morning so please walk out of your office to take a look!
