* Barcelona World Race ist das erste Hochseerennen für eine Zweier-Crew nonstop um die Welt mit Einrumpfrennyachten:

* Start der Regatta: 11. November 2007 vor Barcelona.

* Route: 25.000 Seemeilen, über drei Monate durch die Ozeane um die Welt..

* Ziel dieses neuen Rennens ist es, zu den bestehenden Extremveranstaltungen, Einhand (Vendée Globe) und Crew (Volvo Ocean Race) die aufsehenerregenden Extremsegelveranstaltungen der International Monohull Open Class Association (IMOCA) mit 60-Fuß-Racern und einer Zweier-Crew zu ergänzen.

* Das Barcelona World Race wurde bereits offiziell im IMOCA-Kalender aufgenommen, und wird alle vier Jahre stattfinden. Es ist eine einzigartige Veranstaltung mit verhältnismäßig niedrigen Kosten für die Teilnehmer, und verspricht dennoch einen hohen Aufmerksamkeitswert für Sponsoren und Förderer des Hochseesegeln.

Day 31 11.12.07 Delta Dore dismasts in Indian Ocean, race is over for Jéremie Beyou and Sidney Gavignet, 180 miles west of Edward Islands, 850 miles from Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Day 34 14.12.07 Estrella Damm retires from race citing rudder damage and technical concerns, race is over for Guillermo Altadill and Jonathan McKee, stops in Cape Town
Day 37 17.12.07 Veolia Environnement dismasts in Indian Ocean east of Kerguelen Islands, race is over for Roland Jourdain and Jean-Luc Nelias,
Day 45 Christmas Day in the Southern Ocean : Educacion Sin Fronteras report towering seas and strong winds, boat average over 20 knots of boat speed; best 24-hr run onboard Mutua Madrilena of 370 miles; Veolia Environnement under jury rig 800 miles from Perth
